Sonshine Pre- Kindergarten

Central Minnesota Christian School Sonshine Pre-Kindergarten believes that a Christian early childhood education is important.  We want to assist parents in nurturing their children by having available a well-rounded program of Christian age-appropriate activities that will develop a  love of learning.

Central Minnesota Christian School Sonshine Pre-Kindergarten is an area-wide program open for all Christian parents who want an atmosphere of love and acceptance which will help each child develop to his or her full potential.

Spiritual Growth

  • Listening to daily Bible stories
  • Learning that God made the world
  • Developing a love for God and Jesus
  • Learning to obey because this is what God desires
  • Singing and praying to God

Social Growth

  • Learning to listen while others speak
  • Playing and working cooperatively with peers

Sonshine Fast Facts

Both semesters meet for 36 days

We have two class options each semester:

      *Monday/Wednesday 8:30-11:30 a.m. 

        or 8:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m.

      *Tuesday/Thursday 8:30-11:30 a.m.

        or 8:30 a.m. -3:15 p.m.            

A Sonshine morning session includes opening with devotions and prayer, learning a Bible verse, exploring the weather, singing, show-and-tell,  library and computer time, story time, art, free play, alphabet time, and closing prayer.

A Sonshine afternoon includes lunch, recess, activities to reinforce concepts learned in the morning, snack time, rest time, hands on activities, and play time.

Mrs. Cindy Van Otterloo, our Sonshine teacher, has 17 years of teaching experience!

Sonshine students must be four years of age by September 1, of the current school year.
