Troy Meyer ’91 CMCS graduate and Deb Meyer, current CMCS Parents
Deb and I are taken aback when we are made aware of the generous financial contributions CMCS receives. We are experiencing the tangible benefits this school is providing with Christian Day Schooling for our kids toward being whole persons who desire to live their lives out of the love & knowledge of their creator God. We are excited about God’s work through the self-sacrificing efforts of so many people to continue providing the infrastructure CMCS needs for the school to be all God wants it to be.
Heather Link – ’02 CMCS graduate; current CMCS Secondary Administrative Assistant
How did CMCS prepare you for a life of service?
As I went from classroom to classroom, into the offices, and out the front doors, I always sensed selflessness. What was taught and projected from teachers and staff was that there was more to life and it shouldn’t stop in the hallways. The selfless service that became apparent to me after high school has become ever present in my walk today. We take for granted what is given to us in our school, church, and safe homes, but when you leave it all, that’s when you’re tested to prove if your life of service is genuine. You can become selfish and refuse the call to serve or build upon it daily. Coming back to CMCS as an employee is like completing the circle. My service is giving back to this school and community that has given so much to me.
What are your thoughts regarding the future of CMCS?
I try to view the the capital campaign and building project from an outside perspective, too, since I’ve seen a lot of the inside work. But in both respects, the ideas are becoming realities and I am excited to see what happens. God has truly blessed the plans and work of everyone involved and I believe it is His plans that we need to seek in order to complete the work.
Erin Orred, 9th Grader at CMCS
“I think having a new school will help students grasp learning better….it’ll make [the learning experience] more fun and enjoyable, too!”
DON AHRENHOLZ – ’65 graduate of CMCS and current secondary teacher
How did CMCS prepare you for a life of service?
“The excellence in education prepared me to serve in many different ways long after I left the halls of CMCS – serving on the school Board, Sunday School teacher, and teaching today are just a few ways I love serving. There’s never a day that I don’t love getting up and coming to school to teach here at school.”
What are your thoughts regarding the future of CMCS?
“I’m so encouraged by the overwhelming response to the project which shows commitment to Christian education. That’s an encouragement to me as a teacher here at CMCS!”
JOSH and SUSANNE MULDER - ’93 and ’94 CMCS graduates, current CMCS parents
We both attended CMCS and currently have two children attending CMCS. We moved back to Prinsburg in 2004 with school being one of the major reasons for moving back. We were blessed to be able to attend CMCS, and we really feel that our lives were touched by the staff and community here. Having Christ at the center of our children's education is very important to us, and we know that CMCS will provide our children with an education that gives them a deeper, lasting meaning to what they are learning every day. We also realize that although we as parents do our best to teach our children to keep Christ at the center our lives, we are not perfect and we need all the help we can get! CMCS reinforces the foundation that we are striving to give our children at home.
We’re very excited and humbled to be part of CMCS and we look forward to the building project that is on the horizon. We need to embrace the faith and confidence that our parents and grandparents had to build and sustain a Christian School in this community for over 100 years. We love this school and plan to be a part of it by praying, volunteering, and giving as long as the Lord allows us to do so. We are humbled to be part of a community of believers that is willing to step forward in faith to provide new facilities for our kids and future generations.
With all of the things that our children are going to be faced with in this world, we want to give them a deeper understanding of their place in it and have them understand that Christ is in control of all things. All of creation is under His control, and it is a privilege to be able to learn about it freely in a loving, Christian environment.
EVAN TEBRAKE – 10th grader at CMCS
How do you think a new secondary building will benefit the students?
Our current building serves the purpose, but if we could have the opportunity to learn in a more welcoming and updated environment, it would be a lot more effective for our learning experience here at CMCS.
