Motion by the School Board as approved by Society members on 10/29/11:
“Proceed with the building project concept presented at the Society meetings on June 20 and October 29, 2011. Construction of Phase I and then Phase II will proceed only after 100% of the project cost including debt service is covered with cash donations, in-kind donations, and future commitments. 60% of the project cost to be in available cash and cash equivalents prior to construction.”
Now that the $3.6M (60% of Phase I cost) in available cash has been secured, a firm contractual agreement with Marcus Construction Company (MCC) as the General Contractor has been established.
CMCS has also contracted with Widseth, Smith, and Nolting (WSN) of Alexandria, Minnesota for the architectual engineering services needed for the project . CMCS staff has met with WSN to provide further input into the conceptual plans initially provided by MCC. The process of gathering input and formulating plans will continue until “we get it right,” said WSN architect Reed Becker.
Once plans are finalized, bid will be accepted for the project. Are you or someone you know interested in a specific area of construction and/or providing In-kind services for the project? Contact us at buildcmcs@gmail.com to let us know!
The campaign became public the first week in November of 2011 with nearly $4.4 million of pre-campaign commitments. Since that time, nearly $2 million in additional funds has been secured. We’re that much closer to reaching the goal of $8.5 million needed to complete the project! Working together, we can raise a building and give testimony to a Father Who faithfully provides for His children.
A tentative date of JULY 4 has been set for groundbreaking for Phase I construction slated to begin this summer. We’d LOVE to see many of you there! Check back here periodically for further details.
So where we are at financially?
TOTAL: $6,131,487.80
Continued financial commitments, In-kind donations, and cash donations will allow CMCS to make this vision a reality. Will you partner with us? If so, click HERE.
