CENTRAL LINK #5

The Building Committee continued with their bi-weekly meetings. Last Wednesday evening, April 1st, held much discussion of subjects like goals for CMCS, cost and construction options, and timelines for the committee. We reviewed the responses received from the RFP (Request For Proposals) put out to various architects. The books and CD’s that we received were well done. The committee broke down into small groups as we compared the various topics (areas, subjects, questions) that comprised the RFP’s. We hope to set up interviews with the architect firms that we feel would best represent us on a project.
Thank you for your prayers and please continue to pray for the Building Committee as we seek God’s will for our school and work together to choose the best options for our building project.

Central Link #6

The Building Committee met on Wednesday, April 15, at 5 pm to begin the process of interviewing architects. We had received information from a number of architect firms and after narrowing the list, we invited 3 architect firms to come and make a presentation to us. The first firm was Architects, Inc. from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mr. Steve Jastram made his presentation of suggestions, and goals to us thru an information sheet and computer presentation. This firm handled the Bunde Christian Reformed Church project.
We broke for a quick supper and then met with Koch-Hazard also from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Three representatives came (Christopher Schiltz, Keith Thompson, and Norm deWit) and gave us insight into their firm and their suggestions and goals for this project also with a booklet and computer presentation. They were the architects that were involved in Sioux Falls Christian Elementary School building project.
The evening was filled with questions from all parties involved and we had a number of our questions answered. We had a brief discussion at the end of the evening and will now wait until we interview the third firm, Building God’s Way, in May before making any decisions.
Please continue to be in prayer for the committees who are meeting and working through so many details.

Committee Members include: Larry Marcus, Tom Bakker, Don Ahrenholz, Pete Van Der Puy, Duane Bonnema, Melissa Swart, Doug Erickson, Dan Ohden, Paul Dobmeier, Jason Versteeg, Drew Ryder, Mary Ahrenholz
