Central MN Christian School Drama Department to present "The Ransom of Red Chief"
Two small-time criminals, Bill and Sam, kidnap Johnny (10 years old), the red-haired son of an important citizen named Ebenezer Dorset, and hold him for ransom. But the moment they arrive at their hideout with the boy, the plan begins to unravel.
Please join us April 7, 8, or 9 for a night of laughter and fun. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 21.
Please call school or stop into the high school office to reserve or purchase your tickets. Saturday, April 9 will once again feature a Dinner Theater experience. Tickets are $4 students, $6 adults for Thursday and Friday night performances , and $20 for Dinner Theater.
The Spring Play
Each Spring, the CMCS Drama Department puts on a 2-3 Act Play or a Musical. This play often includes a large segment of the student body. Students can get involved in many different ways, not just acting. Lighting, sound, costume, make-up, set building, and student directing are some of the other areas of involvement.
Try-outs are usually held in early February and practice begins as soon as the One Act Play season has ended. The chosen play or musical is performed three times at the school, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
For the last several years CMCS has made one of the nights a Dinner Theatre experience. These tickets are higher priced and include a three-course meal, with dessert being served at intermission. Former CMCS Graduate and owner/operator of Heglund Catering, Grant Huisinga, has prepared amazing dinners for the last 5 years and we thank him for his service. This year our dinner will be handled by Bart's Cafe.
"The Ransom of Red Chief" will be performed this year. Check out the right side of this page for more details.
